Now when you say Jon Gruden is finished, you mean the brand Jon Gruden, which is bigger than him.

The New York Times has done a number on this one. Gruden does not look good here. It is interesting to read through some of the findings that have been published. They are scattered across several years of communication between Gruden and other members of his inner circle. People that he was obviously comfortable with.

These “Good Old Boy” networks have been under siege by left-wing media Desperados for decades. It is mind-boggling to think that someone in Jon Gruden’s position was communicating in such a manner on public platforms with other high-profile businessmen.

It was reckless behavior beyond belief. This is just the start of another fart storm that is going to hang over an NFL season.

Gruden’s messages were sent to Bruce Allen, the former president of the Washington Football Team, and others, while he was working for ESPN as a color analyst during “Monday Night Football.” In the emails, Gruden called the league’s commissioner, Roger Goodell, a “faggot” and a “clueless anti football pussy” and said that Goodell should not have pressured Jeff Fisher, then the coach of the Rams, to draft “queers,” a reference to Michael Sam, a gay player chosen by the team in 2014.

I get it. There are some people who don’t understand how an email is can jeopardize a man’s job in his position. Especially since those emails came 10 years ago. But it’s not like he wasn’t Jon Gruden 10 years ago. The guy has been in the game his entire adult life. In fact, 10 years ago he was hosting Monday Night Football.
