MindGeek (formerly Manwin) is a privately held Canadian company that primarily focuses on pornography. It is owned by Feras Antoon, Bernard Bergemar, and David Marmorstein Tassillo and operates many popular pornographic websites, including video sharing services Pornhub, RedTube, and YouPorn, as well as adult film production companies Brazzers, Digital Playground, Men.com, Reality Kings, Sean Cody, and WhyNotBi.com, among others. MindGeek is headquartered in Luxembourg, and maintains additional offices in Bucharest, London, Los Angeles, and Montreal.
MindGeek originated with two companies: Mansef and Interhub, owners of Brazzers and Pornhub, respectively. In 2010, Internet entrepreneur Fabian Thylmann bought and merged the properties into a new entity called Manwin. The new company then went on an acquisition spree of other popular pornographic entities. Thylmann later sold his stake in Manwin, after coming under tax evasion charges, and the company was renamed. In 2011, MindGeek raised US$362 million in financing from 125 secret investors such as Fortress Investment Group, JPMorgan Chase, Cornell University, Colbeck Capital, among others.
MindGeek is a member of the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection and uses the “Restricted To Adults” label to identify its pornographic websites.
